Welcome to my story of how our lives changed in an very short timeframe. In our case it all started with a change in allergy medications. Who could imagine where our journey would then take us. Sometimes life changes because of an accident or a traumatic medical condition that we are more familiar with, sometimes it could be a stroke or maybe a heart attack, but a allergy medicine? If something that traumatic had actually occurred (knock on wood) think I would have been overwhelmed and unsure of where to turn as well but I also think that resources and information may also have been more readily available. The information for Dry Eye Disease is just not available to everyone and it can be very, very frustrating…. arrrg! A big part of our quest is to help provide better resources but more on that later….My story or “our” story is written in hopes of helping someone out there that may not know where to turn for help and in part because of the frustration it has caused in our lives. Here is our dry eye story. Here it goes…
We had just sold a family ran business in 2012 that we had started in began in 2001. It had been moderately successful and we had been approached numerous times but the approaching parties where never a good fit. We also had just started a new business in 2013 that would allow us to travel and visit parts of the united states that we could not have normally seen, while we also earned money. It started out really exciting and we were ready for the change. Our first week out is when we noticed something unusual with my wife’s eyes. I had noticed for years that when we were headed to bed at night that her eyes where abnormally red which I associated with her wearing contacts and taking them out to sleep.
We hope that thru this blog we can help to educate, provide important information and recommend products that we have used and found to have actually worked. Although we have not tried each and every possible technique that you may read about or product you may see here on our site we will only recommend the ones we have found most beneficial.
